It is an authentic Corfiot culinary experience and includes:
A welcome to Ambelonas Corfu: with a herbal tea (e.g. lemon verbena, lavender and lemon) or cold red wine with citrus fruits
A short presentation: history of the place, the vineyard, wild herbs and vegetables, the equipment and the processes for traditional olive and wine making along with a 6' video.
Learning about the principles, ingredients and techniques of Corfiot cuisine and the Corfiot culinary culture
Tasting local products along with tsipouro and/or Ambelonas’ wine
Cooking traditional recipes with fresh, local ingredients;
Tasting and discussing dishes at different stages of cooking
Enjoying a full 5 course meal accompanied with authentic local wines
Receiving a copy of our cookbook - “Corfiot Cuisine – in search of the origins” (170 pages) by Vasiliki Karounou, in Greek, English or German.
The cooking classes may be either “Hands on” or “Demonstration” by Vasiliki Karounou. The duration of “Hands on” is 4-6 hrs and “Demonstration” 2-4 hrs depending on the selected menu.
The “Hands on” cooking class is recommended for families or a group of friends up 16 individuals.
Individuals that are not so interested in cooking but they love eating the foods served are also welcome.

Hands On cooking and a 5 course meal Corfiot culinary experience at Ambelonas Corfu
Duration: 4 - 4,5 hours
It includes:
1. Welcome to Ambelonas Corfu: with an herbal tea or soft drink (e.g. lemon verbena, lavender and lemon) or cold red wine with citrus fruits.
2. Learn about the principles, ingredients and techniques of Corfiot cuisine and the Corfiot culinary culture.
3. Hands on cooking with fresh, local ingredients cooked with traditional recipes and techniques.
4. Taste and discuss dishes at different stages of cooking.
5. A short presentation: history of the place, the vineyard, the equipment and the processes for traditional olive and wine making along with a video.
6. Wine, extra virgin olive oil and authentic local product tasting.
A. Red, white and rosé wine - all traditional Corfiot varieties: Red -“Skopelitiko”, White - “Kakotrigis” and the rose is a combination of -“Skopelitiko”, “Kakotrigis” and “corfiot moscato”
B. A variety of local products (10-12) according to the season:
Spicy sun dried tomato
Jerusalem artichoke salad
Corfiot salami
Fresh fig chutney
Corfiot noumboulo (Corfiot kind of prosciutto made from pork fillet)
Corfiot sweet fruit mustard
Goat or feta cheese
Wild green figs
Extra virgin cold pressed olive oil
Corfiot olives
Whole wheat and whole grain bread
Split pea salad
