It is an authentic Corfiot culinary experience and includes:
A welcome to Ambelonas Corfu: with a herbal tea (e.g. lemon verbena, lavender and lemon) or cold red wine with citrus fruits
A short presentation: history of the place, the vineyard, wild herbs and vegetables, the equipment and the processes for traditional olive and wine making along with a 6' video.
Learning about the principles, ingredients and techniques of Corfiot cuisine and the Corfiot culinary culture
Tasting local products along with tsipouro and/or Ambelonas’ wine
Cooking traditional recipes with fresh, local ingredients;
Tasting and discussing dishes at different stages of cooking
Enjoying a full 5 course meal accompanied with authentic local wines
Receiving a copy of our cookbook - “Corfiot Cuisine – in search of the origins” (170 pages) by Vasiliki Karounou, in Greek, English or German.
The cooking classes may be either “Hands on” or “Demonstration” by Vasiliki Karounou. The duration of “Hands on” is 4-6 hrs and “Demonstration” 2-4 hrs depending on the selected menu.
The “Hands on” cooking class is recommended for families or a group of friends up 16 individuals.
Individuals that are not so interested in cooking but they love eating the foods served are also welcome.
